-JGT has applied for DHEC permit extensions for the bulkhead repair
- The purchase order for the Jetfilters (500) has been placed. We expect delivery by the end of the year
- We reviewed Terracon's inputs to the coating specification document which were all minor. Southern Cathodic plans to incorporate updates to the cleaning requirements.
- We have requested performance data from Thyacol (2235M caulking manufacturer) for use of the caulking both over or under the TZ-904 epoxy. PMI (coating company) plans on using the caulking in the piling joints first and then over-spraying the epoxy coating while the caulking is wet. They will build a test panel this week to validate this approach.
- Southern Cathodic has created a new rectifier location plan for Waterway Island with the 13 rectifiers in homeowners front yards (1 per property) instead of the green space layout per residents' request. This was completed on 12/16.
- A video has been posted on the PMS website with a rectifier powered up to show that there is No audible noise. Rectifiers will begin delivery to us the first week in January.
- The engineering team (JGT and SCP) inspected the gangway connection to the concrete cap at 30 Morgan place. The attachment plate bolts and concrete anchors will require replacement with stainless steel hardware. The gangways will be pulled along the bulkhead (1 at a time) to allow access to the I-beam caps for repair and coating. JGT (Chris Moore) will specify the new hardware.
- The concrete cap on top of the steel I-beam is damaged at all the expansion joints which will be saw cut and filled with flexible silicon based sealant. The concrete top surface is also damaged in several areas due to water damage. The coating consultant (Steve Williams) recommends using a diamond grinder to top grind the entire concrete cap surface, seal with an epoxy and top coat with polyurethane with a non-slip additive for UV protection. This will repair the damage, keep the water out, make it look nice and prevent future damage. Steve estimates the crew could repair 400-500 feet/day (about 3 weeks of work). This is not included in the current SCP work statement. We have requested pricing on this work and if approved, will be paid for from our reserves.
